Committee | Library Case
Committee Meeting | Library Case
Meet at the Laurel Public Library
10:00am - 11:00am | Setup the Case
We will be changing out the library case this Thursday, November 6th at 10am.
Please bring any boxes, etc., for the items being removed.
The primary topics in the case will be:
- Red Fox (Park's taxidermy)
- Harvestmen (Granddaddy Longlegs)
- 75th Anniversary of State parks (Trap was the first) and First Day Walk
Other topics if we have room:
- Atlantic Flyway- waterfowl that sometimes use Trap Pond
- Lantern Walks at Trap
If these don't fit in the case, we will highlight them on top of it.
I'm working on info pages for the different topics. Marc is working on the Ipad for a video on Harvestmen.
Marilyn will get a list together for what we will need to bring.
Volunteers Needed | Invasive Species Removal
There has been an identification of the noxious weed Palmer Amaranth in several of our agricultural lease areas.
The Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) team will be working along Arvey Road near the Gordy Road intersection—the same location as the most recent tree planting. They’ll be hand-pulling Palmer Amaranth and have asked for some additional help.
If you’re available, please join the ESP team on Tuesday, November 4 at 1:30 PM at the Arvey Road field for a brief session on plant identification and proper removal techniques.
The more helping hands we have, the faster we can eliminate this invasive species from our land.
