Stop in at the Bethesda Church. Park staff will be available to answer questions and discuss the important history of rural churches in the area. Give yourself time to explore the cemetery and natural beauty of the area. No registration required. Free with paid park entrance.

Youth Fishing Tournament

Open to ages 15 and under. Meet at the boathouse for free fishing instruction and other activities from 8:30 – 9 a.m. Fishing tournament will begin at 9 and run until 11. Catch and release will be encouraged. Equipment will be provided, or bring your own. No registration required. Free with paid park entrance. Program meets at nature center.

Hiking Staffs

Make your own personalized hiking staff with carving horse, draw knife, and wood burning tools. All tools and a selection of materials will be provided. Participants under 18 must be supervised by an adult. Not recommended for those under 12 years old.

Brody Bond

Folk

Brody Bond, a performing songwriter from Baltimore, MD, hopes his songs can be a type of emotional resource for people. With a voice that’s confident though fragile, melodies that take surprising turns, and lyrics that are as smart as they are emotionally vulnerable, Brody’s songs will delight especially the critical listener, and especially anyone who has grown from heartbreaking circumstances.

His performances are light-hearted, but the songs are serious, poetic, and curious. Audiences leave having been invited to a greater curiosity and hope.

Allie Donovan is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, and ukelele player located in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She had performed at Chatties Lounge in Chincoteague, Mad Hatter Cafe in Salisbury, and is a regular feature at Ocean Pines Farmers and Artisans Market.

POISONS AND TOXINS AND VENOM, OH MY!

Plants and animals have developed some intriguing chemical strategies for defense. Learn about these poisons, toxins, and venoms during this 1 hour program.
